About Ristorante Toscano

What are you looking for when you decide you want to go somewhere for a good meal at a reasonable price? Quality of food is definitely a consideration, but service and atmosphere will probably also figure into your decision. Ristorante Toscano in Lansdale has it all!Chef John Bruno has owned and managed and, according to his daughter, been the “cooker” at Toscano’s for the last fifteen years. His passion for good food, his attention to details, and his dedication to making every diner’s experience the best it can be are obvious in the ever-changing specials that are offered. Rather than depending on one purveyor to supply all of his foods, John is constantly on the lookout for the best he can find. He travels to New York City to select the pasta, some of the meat, fish, and cheeses; some of the other meats are acquired from a Richland Township meat processor (you can’t get anything fresher!); he depends on a local farmer’s market in Lancaster, as well as his own garden in the summer, for his produce; he uses local dairy products, and despite the fact that John is third-generation Italian, he believes that a certain olive oil from Spain has just the right flavor for his dishes. All of the soups and sauces are made at Toscano’s, and John and nephew Joe Bruno are always introducing new items, including desserts – be sure to try one of Joe’s sorbets! All in all, the food at Toscano’s is always fresh, innovative, and delicious.
Members of the wait staff at Toscano’s bear no resemblance to the aloof and indifferent staff at many dining establishments. Each staff member at Toscano’s shares John’s passion and dedication to providing their patrons with a memorable dining experience. Debbie, Steph, Mary, and Patrick have each worked at Toscano’s for at least five years – a remarkable testimony to the caring family atmosphere. Each is knowledgeable about the menu items and the specials and will be happy to help make you your selections, or to leave you alone to consider your options. Their experience will become obvious in their unobtrusive attentiveness to serving you. Since Toscano’s is BYO, they will also be happy to open and pour your favorite wine.
Many reviewers have described the atmosphere at Toscano’s as “welcoming.” The goal at Toscano’s is to treat every guest as a special family member would be treated, and you might be surprised to find that John and his staff remember you from a previous visit, even if it was weeks, or even months, before. This friendly atmosphere means that whether you are dining out to enjoy a special occasion or date night, a business appointment, or whether you decide at the last minute that you would rather let someone else do the cooking, you and your special someone, your business associates, your friends and relatives, and even your children will feel at home. This warm and friendly atmosphere is further enhanced by extra touches such as live piano music on the first Fridays of each month and on most Saturday evenings, Gnocchi Night on the third Thursday of each month, Iron “Chefs” competitions involving seasonal menus created by John and Joe (guests decide the winner), and the annual Super Bowl menu featuring foods from the competing cities.
Ristorante Toscano is truly a gem of a restaurant in downtown Lansdale. We invite you to come and try the Toscano’s experience for yourself!
