Colonel and The King

Colonel and The King

What if Colonel Sanders and Elvis Had Dinner?

This Friday, September 9th marks two pop culture anniversaries. Colonel Sanders was born on this date in 1890 (he would have been 126 years old this year), and Elvis Presley made his first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show on this date in 1956. Just for the record, he was 21 years old at the time. Of course, this has us thinking…

As you can probably guess, John and Joe are cooking up a memorable menu to honor these two American icons – AND in recognition of September as National Chicken Month and National Honey Month.

First course
Sue’s Summer Salad
peaches, beets, and feta cheese in honey vinaigrette

Entrée
Salute the Colonel
fried chicken and biscuits with gravy

Dessert
It’s Now or Never
Elvis’s favorite pound cake, toasted and topped with vanilla peanut butter ice cream and honey-glazed bananas (Elvis loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches)

This special menu is available all weekend for $30
