Most of us don’t usually think of pairing Italian and Chinese cuisine, but today happens to be the Third Thursday of February and the Chinese New Year! Third Thursday, as many of you know, means that it is Gnocchi Gnight at Toscano’s. For the bargain price of $10 you can enjoy one of our four gnocchi specials:
Gnocchi Bolognese – a meat-based sauce that originated in Bologna, Italy
Gnocchi Verdi – ricotta cheese and spinach, topped with our red sauce
Roman Gnocchi – semolina pasta topped with sausage and peppers
Pumpkin Gnocchi – served with a spinach cream sauce
To celebrate the Chinese New Year and usher in 2015 as the Year of the Goat, Toscano’s will usher in its gnocchi entrees with an appetizer of three Chinese egg rolls – one each of the following:
Cheese Steak Egg Roll (an ancient Chinese favorite, we’re sure!)
Pork with Provolone and Roasted Peppers Egg Roll
Chicken with Pepper Jack Cheese Egg Roll
The Egg Roll appetizer will be offered for the “baaa”rgain price of $5.75.
Those of you who were born in other “Goat” years (1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003) will have the opportunity to wish your fellow old – and young! – “goats” Gong Xi Fa Cai, which translates as “wishing you to be prosperous in the coming year.”
You can make this a truly international evening by bringing along a bottle of your favorite beverage from France, Australia, Spain, Argentina, or even the United States!
